SUBMIT A STORY

You are CSM history; because of that, only you know the hundred different ways you can contribute to this project – a book and an interactive historical exhibit.

Consider interviewing an important camp figure. Dig up that beloved handwritten letter you received from your favorite counselor. Access the Catholic Courier online archives or drive to your parents and find that aging stack of Stardust volumes collecting dust in their attic. Call or email that old camp friend and share your ideas about the piece you want to write. Heck, the two of you might even decide to co-author a piece together. You can use this occasion to put into words that one memory that needs to be shared.

Camp Stella Maris Mind Map

We’ve created a mind map to inspire and spark memories of different aspects of camp, serving as a starting point for reflection. While some people and moments may not be included, it is a fairly comprehensive guide designed to help you recall experiences and inspire your story.

When you are ready to share, please use the form below to share an abstract of the story you’d like to contribute. Once we receive your submission you will receive an email from us with further instructions!

Your story should be submitted as a short abstract (a quick summary or preview). Taking this approach will help us to get a sense of your story and how it will fit within the book. Once your abstract is submitted, we’ll follow up with you on next steps including how to submit your full story!

Multiple Stories

If you have multiple stories to share, please note that you will need to fill out the form more than once.

Story (Abstract) Submission Guidelines

  1. All submissions require your contact information, including name, email address, physical address, and the year(s) you attended as a camper or were on staff.
  2. Your story should be submitted as a short abstract (a quick summary or preview). This helps us get a sense of your experience and how it might fit in with the book.
  3. The abstract also helps the editors aggregate these stories into individual categories for potential publication.
  4. If the submission concerns a deceased individual, please note it below, along with any other relevant information.
  5. All stories are welcome, and broad themes can include:

Activities

Events

Memories/From the Heart

People

Places

Spirituality

4. The Editorial team reserves the right to lightly edit submissions for grammar, clarity, privacy, and civility.

5. Again, we’ve also created a mind map to inspire and spark memories of different aspects of camp, serving as a starting point for reflection. While some people and moments may not be included, it is a fairly comprehensive guide designed to help you recall experiences and inspire your story.
